Ted Sumner began his adult life when, after finishing his tour of duty in the United States Army, he entered the field of law enforcement with the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department , assigned to duty in the Main Jail.  He later moved to the San Jose Police Department where he was assigned, due to undercover Narcotics duty detailed to infiltrate and bring down the sources of supply of illicit drugs streaming into the local high schools.

The success of his initial undercover mission led to him being assigned to further undercover operations which ultimately brought about the arrests of scores of operatives and destruction of numerous narcotics supply organizations. Over the years many have encouraged him to write the story of his undercover adventures, but it took his good friend Mills Crenshaw to finally extract the saga.

Ted Sumner currently lives in Texas where he is a successful business man and 10th degree Black Belt Kenpo Karate instructor.
